At Derek Wright Golf, we have an excellent team of professionals ready to assist where we can.
I have been the Professional at Hamilton Golf club since November 2002. As a AA PGA Professional, my aim is to help golfers of all abilities achieve their potential and increase their enjoyment of the game.
I regularly attend seminars and clinics to further improve my knowledge and skill set within all aspects of the golf industry.
As a Trackman Level 1 & 2 certified Professional, I utilise the best systems available benefit my pupils games. Whither this be club fitting, distance gapping or instruction sessions I have the knowledge and tools to help. I welcome golfers of all abilities who have a desire to be the best they can be.
I am also currently working alongside Scottish Golf to deliver the Development Academy coaching program to junior developing golfers.
I have been associated with Hamilton Golf Club since the age of 15 and was lucky enough to win the junior championship on 3 occasions. Since then I have been selected at under 16,18 youth and mens level to play for Lanarkshire. As a junior I won the County Boys Stroke play and Spring Meeting. I also represented Hamilton Golf Club in the Scottish and British Boys championships. When I left junior golf I achieved a scratch handicap.
In 2006, I won the Jackson Cup and went on to win the Lanarkshire Order of Merit. In 2007 my handicap was +2 which enabled me to play in the prestigious Lytham Trophy alongside golfers who would go on and win on the European Tour.
This year I hope to be accepted into The PGA to pursue a career within the golf industry.
